About Us

OUR CORPORATE BACKGROUND AND VALUES

Who We Are

The Kenya Paediatric Association (KPA) is a non-profit, non-partisan professional body dedicated to advancing excellence in paediatric care and ensuring the delivery of timely, high-quality services to children across Kenya. Established in 1968 by a small group of paediatricians responding to the needs of a rapidly growing population, the Association was founded to provide professional support and facilitate the exchange of clinical knowledge to address emerging childhood diseases.

Our History

While this core mandate remains unchanged, the context in which KPA operates has evolved significantly. The scope of paediatric care has expanded alongside shifting disease patterns, population growth, and increasing health system complexities. In an era where health is recognized as a fundamental right and enshrined in the Constitution, KPA and its members are uniquely positioned and obligated; to respond proactively and effectively to these dynamic challenges, ensuring that all children receive equitable, high-quality care.

Our Vision

Optimal healthcare environment for children.

Our Mission

To be the guide and leader in comprehensive child healthcare delivery through promotion of best practice in paediatrics training, research, policy formulation and capacity building of members.
